This is our 3rd year of staying here. It is located with a nice stream running right down the middle of the campground. It is an adult oriented park. There are trout and small mouth bass in the stream. They have the cleanest bathrooms and showers I have ever seen. There is no seasonal or yearly camping which makes this place very clean. Optimistic is also very pet friendly. If you like to fish, hike or just relax by the stream this is the place for you and yours. No tents are allowed.

We love this place. The owner is one of the most hard working owners I have ever seen. She is always outside working on the grounds to keep them nice. This is not a playground for kids. There is no pool or playground. We spend most of our time on the beach or out exploring the outer banks and use the campground as our base for this. We'll be back this year for sure.
